These are “box-motion” style wrappers. The device making the end seal moves horizontally with the product as the seal is made. When the seal is complete, the head rises and the carriage returns to make the next seal. The vertical sealing motion is servo controlled, giving the operator control of the dwell time and seal pressure from the touchscreen.
The horizontal carriage motion uses Texwrap’s patented hybrid pneumatic cam system. It moves the carriage back and forth very fast to seal and separate packages, without the harsh stops and starts inherent in competitive systems, for maximum throughput speeds with long-term reliability and minimum maintenance. Texwrap’s exclusive Motion Trim technology increases throughput speed further by electronically minimizing the motion of the end seal device.
Flexibility and ease of use are hallmarks of Texwrap design. Standard autospacing control, horizontal and vertical photoeyes, and precisely variable conveyor speeds that relax the film between products let the CSS Series accommodate randomly fed or choke-spaced product. It accurately separates them for reliable, consistent packages using the absolute minimum amount of film.
The CSS-2011, a perennial favorite of contract packagers, has a product capacity of 10 inches high by 20 inches wide and 100 feet per minute conveyor speeds, so it is versatile enough to accommodate a variety of product sizes and configurations. A “speed maximizer” system automatically brings the machine up to top speed for any given product setup. The operator controls are on a swivel-mount panel that can be reached from either side of the machine. The instructions are easy to understand, film threading is fast and easy, and the scrap winder is very conveniently located, so operators find the CSS-2011 easy to keep running at maximum efficiency.
Allen-Bradley controls, AC inverter-duty motors, restricted service-level menus and auto-tune heaters make the CSS-2011 as popular with maintenance staffs as it is with operators. For shrink wrap applications that require the highest level of production performance across a wide variety of product sizes, true 24/7 reliability, maximum product flexibility and minimum film usage, the CSS-2011 is the perfect solution.
The CSS-1407 is Texwrap’s latest design advance for moderate-speed wrapping of packages where a side seal is desired. It retains the hallmarks of design and proven reliability the market has come to expect from Texwrap, in a brand-new compact size. Its 2-axis servo head, 140 feet per minute conveyor speed and Texwrap’s exclusive Motion Trim™ technology make it the fastest and most flexible wrapper of its kind. Its side seal is Texwrap’s exclusive Versa Seal, which offers strong, reliable seals and minimal trim requirements to save film width, and requires very little maintenance.
Simplicity and ease of use were paramount in the CSS-1407 design. The controls are easily accessible and intuitive to use. With color touchscreen controls on the swivel panel, easy-access sliding doors and an easy-mount, easy-thread film carriage, the machine gives new meaning to the term “operator-friendly.” The design appeals equally to maintenance departments: servo drives eliminate the requirement for shop air, and the sliding operator doors lift out completely for easy access to the wrapping area. From true Generation 3 servo design to solid 24/7 construction, the CSS-1407 provides maximum reliability, ease of use and minimum maintenance requirements, resulting in the lowest total cost of ownership available on the market today.
The CSS-1809 is Texwrap’s offering for applications demanding a very fast servo wrapper versatile enough to accommodate a variety of product sizes. It is built for the most demanding production environments. It uses “Generation 3” servo technology, designed from the ground up to integrate servo technology, PLC control and the mechanical elements of the machine. The result is one incredibly fast, reliable and flexible wrapper with minimal moving parts, minimal maintenance requirements and maximum performance.
Built-in features include programmable cross seal pressure, speed modulation that automatically increases or decreases system speed to follow upstream production, “auto space” to precisely separate randomly fed products, and a “maximizer” control that automatically brings the entire system to top speed for any given setup. Texwrap also considered the many types of upstream feeding systems the CSS-1809 might be paired with and built in extra capacity, making it easy to integrate into almost any application. For shrink wrap applications that require the highest level of production performance, true 24/7 reliability and maximum flexibility to accommodate a variety of product sizes, the CSS-1809 is the perfect solution.
CSS Series systems use Texwrap Versa Seal technology, which ensures a consistent, quality seal at high speed. They are robust enough to run continuously, 3 shifts per day, 7 days a week. The rugged yet simple design of the patented TVS sealing system produces the ultimate in consistent seal quality across a broad range of film types and gauges, with little or no adjustment. Very few moving parts, no air and an uncoated sealing element ensure consistent seal quality with very little maintenance. With Texwrap’s patented Motion Trim™ technology and conveyor speeds up to 140 feet per minute, each machine maximizes speed yet minimizes wear on moving parts. Made-in-the-USA quality and customer support and Texwrap’s industry-leading 10-Year Built-Better Backed-Better Warranty ensure the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry.
